Stage 1 works forge ahead

Stage 1 works forge ahead with the concrete slab and steelwork going up for the KiwiRail control room and refurbishment work on the Buddle Building continuing to schedule.

Stage 1 campus works, which include the transformation of the Buddle Building and the construction of the new KiwiRail control room, have continued full steam ahead since the ground-breaking ceremony in early December 2021.

LT McGuinness has continued to strip and prep the Buddle Building and stair tower in readiness for refurbishment, which includes strengthening works, the installation of a new façade, and a full interior refit of services. All these enhancements are set to transform the building into a comfortable, efficient modern workspace, set amongst a tranquil backdrop of established native trees.

Work on the KiwiRail control room is visibly moving very quickly as can be seen via our timelapse camera. To date, the site has been cleared, the concrete slab has been poured and the structural steel is going up quick-smart.

The KiwiRail control room is set to be complete later this year and the Buddle Building is scheduled to be ready for tenants in mid-2023. There are still some great leasing options available in the Buddle Building – more details are available here, or contact theresa@willisbond.co.nz for more details. We look forward to bringing you another update on progress in the next few weeks.
